As young men, brothers Esteban and Javier Najera dreamed of starting their own auto repair business in San Jose. Their initial idea was to offer emergency roadside service to stranded motorists in their neighborhood. Although neither brother had business experience or capital for their venture, each had a big heart and an eagerness to forge into the challenge of business ownership.
With only an old pick-up truck, an air compressor, and $500 in cash, they went into business in January of 1994. Javier worked full-time at the shop while attending college at San Jose University part-time. Esteban also took classes and performed volunteer work at his local church, Saint Patrick's Proto-Cathedral.
In the beginning it was tough, and whenever they completed a job it was standard practice to run to the bank and deposit the check immediately. But as they became known in the community and their reputation spread, they developed a solid, dependable business with a large base of loyal customers. Those early days were a very challenging time for Esteban and Javier, but they were also very rewarding.
As business grew, Esteban and Javier realized their customers needed more than just roadside assistance. Soon, Tres Amigos began to offer front-end suspension repairs as well as brake and alignment repairs. The brothers wanted to ensure their customers were driving safe and reliable vehicles.
Today, Tres Amigos is a dynamic shop that can repair any vehicle, domestic or import. Over the years, the shop has added fleet repair to its list of services, as well as machinery and small trailer repairs. You won’t find a better team of auto mechanics in San Jose!

Javier Najera – Owner & President
Javier graduated from San Jose University with a B.S. in Industrial and Systems Engineering in 2003. It is no surprise to anyone who knows Javier that he graduated at the top of his class and also made the Dean's list in 2002. After graduation, Javier decided to grow the family business rather than pursue other opportunities.
"My family has been involved in the auto industry for many years. I know how important quality work is when it comes to your automobile. As a little boy, I would help my older brothers fix cars and make some extra cash. I graduated from San Jose State University from the Industrial and Systems Engineering Program, and with the knowledge obtained from San Jose State I am able to understand how important quality service is and how to control it." — Javier
